Quality guidelines and publications to support AV procurement

The AVITA Quality Guidelines are intended for anyone who designs, commissions or implements AV solutions. The guidelines will help you ensure that your procurement process is orderly, the bids are easy to compare and the end result meets your users’ needs. On this page you will find AVITA’s AVQ quality guidelines and other background material on the AV industry.

Who are the quality guidelines for?

AVITA’s quality guidelines are designed for those working in the field of AV procurement and implementation:

for developers, clients and decision-makers

for users and owners of AV solutions

for project consultants and designers

contractors, integrators and equipment suppliers

The guidelines will also be useful for anyone who wants to better understand the overall picture and quality factors in AV procurement.

AVQ quality guidelines to support AV projects

The AVITA quality project was launched in 2006. It resulted in the AVQ quality guide series, which describes the steps of an AV project and provides concrete tools for design and procurement. The guidelines are available for download in PDF format.

AVQ 1 – AV quality chain

AVQ 1 describes the overall AV design and implementation. It describes how the project progresses from needs assessment to deployment and maintenance.
As such, AVQ 1 is suitable as a “little textbook” for anyone working on AV projects.

AVQ 2 – Call for tender for AV design

AVQ 2 focuses on the preparation of an AV design tender. It aims to help decision-makers, developers and project consultants in particular to define a clear, comparable and appropriate tender.

AVQ 3 – AV design offer

AVQ 3 deals with the AV design offer from the provider’s perspective. It helps to ensure that the tender covers all key aspects and that it meets the client’s needs as accurately as possible.

What are quality guidelines for?

AVITA’s quality guidelines aim to:

ensure that the AV system meets the needs of the users and the resources of the subscriber

ensure that calls for tender for AV implementations are designed to ensure that the resulting tenders lead to the desired outcome.

improve the ability of bidders for engineering, works and equipment to calculate their bids correctly
make bids comparable and coherent in terms of content

ensure that the design and implementation take into account all the key aspects of the final outcome
support the maintenance and continuous improvement of quality in the audiovisual sector

Publications and background material on the AV sector

In addition to quality guidelines, AVITA publishes a range of guides, recommendations and background materials on the AV industry. These publications help you to get an overview of the sector, monitor developments and apply best practice to AV projects.
