Who are you?
Anni Valkonen
Technical Producer, Helsinki Music Centre
The job description is very varied, to name a few: technical support for sales, technical planning of events, resourcing of technical staff, sales/technical liaison.
How and why did you get into the AV sector?
I studied digital sound and commercial music at Tamki as a media specialist. I wanted to be a classical music recording engineer, and applied and got an internship at Yle Radio’s outdoor production. This department did the recordings for RSO at the Music Hall. That’s the road we’re on.
Tell us something about your job and what you love about it?
I like to plan events and my strength is in the overall concept. The concert hall is well used and the scheduling of events is sometimes very precise and challenging. But I think the best part of my job is the Musiikkitalo team.
What current issue in AV is inspiring you right now?
There have been good discussions about the well-being, working hours and stress levels of workers in the sector. Recently, I have been looking at well-being and safety at work in my own work community.
What are you looking forward to at the next fair?
The programme includes a lot of topical streaming. They will be of interest! I recommend to everyone the presentation of Janne Koivulahti’s thesis on work fatigue in the AV industry. I have listened to it a couple of times.
Any funny memories from the AudioVisual Expo?
AV4Ladies Networking at the Avita stand 2019.
Thank you Anni! See you at the fair!
