Fair visitor Markus Pirttijärvi

We talked to Markus Pirttijärvi about the AV sector and the mood and expectations for the next fairs. Read the short interview here!

Who are you?

Markus Pirttijärvi Filmlike Oy.

I work as a technical producer for the company. I am mainly responsible for multi-camera productions and events. My job description is broad in the narrowest sense of the word. I handle the execution of events from A to B to Ö.

How and why did you get into the AV sector?

I’ve been playing drums all my life and that’s where my interest in sound engineering developed. The journey from sound engineering to other techniques is a natural part of the continuum. After working in the field for a year, I decided to delve further into the subject through study. It was a good decision. My hobby has become a profession that not only provides me with a living, but also a good feeling.

Tell us something about your job and what you love about it?

My job is very varied and challenging in a suitable way. Situations change quickly and it suits my personality more than well. Problem solving is a basic skill in this job and, with the right tools and attitude, it’s frankly enjoyable to reap the rewards.

What current issue in AV is inspiring you right now?

Needless to say, the pandemic changed the game. Hybrid events are here to stay and there are plenty of pages to turn in that booklet. I believe that, in terms of interactivity, among other things, we are only at the beginning.

What are you looking forward to at the next fair?

In particular, I look forward to the lecture “Hybrid events in the present and future” by Antti Rintamäki of Intersonic Oy and the thesis “Work fatigue in the AV industry” by lighting designer Janne Koivulehto.

Any funny memories from the Audiovisual Expo?

I received a bottle of champagne as a gift for a job well done as a photo technician on the SVV/ AVITA main platform.

Thank you Markus! See you at the fair!
